Andrew Mitchell MP: Christmas Message 2011

It is once again that time of year and with the festive season close at hand I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my constituents a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

2011 has been a tough year for many and our first thoughts must be with those families who are struggling in what are very difficult economic times. My thoughts also go out to those who will be missing loved ones this Christmas, whether from bereavement, illness or because they are serving abroad in the Armed Forces.

I hope that despite any setbacks this year has thrown at you, you can take a moment to be with loved ones, and to relax and enjoy yourself this festive season.

The break gives us all an opportunity to catch up with family and friends and to enjoy each other’s company. We can do that in the secure knowledge that there are those amongst us who give up their Christmas and New Year to ensure that we are safe. On Wednesday I made a special visit to Good Hope Hospital, our Police and Fire Stations to meet with some of those people and to thank them for all their hard work on behalf of our town.

I never forget my responsibility for representing Sutton Coldfield and the absolute priority this takes in everything I do. As always please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can help you with any problems or answer any questions, I'm always happy to help.

My very best wishes to you and yours,

Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP
