Andrew Mitchell MP discusses business opportunities in Royal Sutton Coldfield with Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Faulkner
Andrew Mitchell has met with Paul Faulkner, Chief Executive of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce to discuss recent developments within the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce, and the benefits which were being secured for Sutton Coldfield. They were joined by Councillor Ewan Mackey.
The Royal Town’s MP highlighted the news last week that the unemployment rate has fallen to an 11 year low, with the number of people claiming the key out of work benefits in Sutton Coldfield having fallen by 762 – a 51% drop since 2010. Andrew noted ideas from the Chamber of Commerce about what more could be done to promote employment and training, as well as discussing more general business opportunities that could benefit Suttonians and promote the Royal Town as a place to live and work.
Paul and Andrew also talked about the broader economic picture in the United Kingdom, and the approach the Chamber of Commerce is taking to Brexit to ensure that Birmingham and the West Midlands remained an economic powerhouse, along with support that could be given to local businesses in uncertain economic conditions.
