Andrew Mitchell MP Meets Sutton Coldfield Businesses with Federation of Small Businesses at Royal Sutton Town Hall

Andrew Mitchell MP has addressed a meeting of the Birmingham Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses held in Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.

Mr Mitchell MP spoke about recent measures introduced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer designed to help small businesses in Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham and looked ahead to this year’s Budget to be held on 16 March. He also discussed the forthcoming EU Referendum and measures to tackle the over-enthusiastic use of red tape as well as answering questions on a range of business issues, following his speech.

The Royal Town’s MP also had an opportunity to meet the Board of the Sutton Coldfield Business Improvement District (BID) and discuss their areas of focus regarding the upcoming budget. Mr Mitchell MP took the concerns of the FSB and BID members on board and made representations to the Chancellor of Exchequer following his meeting in the Town Hall on the issues of business rate reform, tax simplification and supporting growing businesses and new entrepreneurs.

The Vice Chairman of the FSB, Mr Ken Bruce expressed his thanks to Mr Mitchell and said that the meeting “went well and received positive feedback.”

Following the meeting Mr Mitchell said, “I am a huge supporter of small businesses and the massive contribution they make to the local community and I am always interested in what they need the Government to do to help them. It was fitting that this meeting was held in Sutton’s magnificent Town Hall as some 75% of the Birmingham Branch membership live in Sutton Coldfield.”
