On Sunday Sutton Coldfield’s Member of Parliament, Andrew Mitchell, joined Sutton’s Royal British Legion, Sea, Army and Air Cadets, local Councillors and residents to pay tribute to Service men and women from Sutton Coldfield and across the UK at the town’s official Remembrance Day ceremony.

The Service of Remembrance was held at Holy Trinity Parish Church and conducted by Reverend John Routh. The Last Post followed by the Two Minute Silence and Reveille took place in the Church. The procession was then led by the Royal British Legion to King Edward Square for the Laying of the Wreaths at the War Memorial.

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I am always extremely proud to join Sutton’s Royal British Legion, our Sea, Army and Air Cadets as well as many others to pay tribute to brave Service men and women from Sutton Coldfield and across the UK who have fought for & those who continue to fight for our country.”

“Remembrance Sunday serves as an important reminder of the enormous gratitude we owe to our members of our Armed Forces who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.”

Following the laying of the wreaths, Andrew Mitchell and his wife Sharon joined the Chairman of the Sutton Coldfield Branch of the Royal British Legion along with ex-service men and women at the British Legion club.
