Andrew Mitchell MP receives a warm welcome from Penns Primary School

Andrew Mitchell MP visited Penns Primary School to speak to Year Six pupils about his job as their Member of Parliament and take part in a quick-fire question and answer session.

The Royal Town’s MP spoke about his work as the children’s Member of Parliament and explained how he represents all of his constituents at Westminster. He talked about how he divides his week between his home in Sutton Coldfield and Westminster.

He then answered over 30 questions from his young constituents, ranging from the impact of Brexit to what he would do if he ran the world, to whether he would have voted for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Andrew Mitchell MP said “School children are always my toughest audience and I was impressed with the range of questions the pupils had come up with – it is encouraging to see such an interest in politics from a young age”.
