Andrew Mitchell MP visits Wylde Green Primary School

Sutton’s MP has paid a visit to Wylde Green Primary School. He visited the new play area, which was funded by fundraising activities by the children and by a generous donation from the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust. He also met with the new headteacher, Donna O’Toole, to discuss the progress of the school and her ambitions for the next year.

Wylde Green Primary School is the oldest school in the Birmingham area, and has a reputation for being very much a community school.

After his visit to the new play area, which has a range of wooden structures that the children clearly enjoy playing on, Andrew Mitchell was given a grilling by the School Council, who asked an impressive series of questions ranging from his views on education policy to his favourite childhood book.

Following his visit, Mr Mitchell said “I enjoyed spending time with such an enthusiastic and bright group of children. The new play area is a credit to the school, and I would like to thank both the fundraising team at the school and the Charitable Trust for raising money for such a good project”.
