Andrew Mitchell MP welcomes fall in recorded crime in Sutton

Sutton Coldfield’s MP, Andrew Mitchell, has welcomed the news that recorded crime in Sutton Coldfield has fallen by 13.3 per cent over the last twelve months.

The Coalition Government has introduced a number of reforms to Policing including removing central targets and reducing bureaucracy. The figures released by the independent Office for National Statistics show crime at its lowest level in the UK since records began.

Andrew Mitchell MP, said “The news that crime is falling across Sutton Coldfield will be warmly welcomed by my constituents. Our local Police force in Sutton should be proud of their success in working with local people to make our community safer.”

“We are making the Police more modern and flexible by reducing bureaucracy. This will save upto 4.5 million Police hours a year and return the equivalent of an extra 2,100 Officers back onto the streets.”
