The Motion

“Sutton Coldfield Would Leave the European Union”

Andrew Mitchell has today announced that the Royal Sutton Coldfield Europe Debate promised by him in his 2015 General Election Manifesto will take place in the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall at midday on Saturday 11 June 2016.

The Motion will be that “Sutton Coldfield Would Leave the European Union”.

It will be proposed by
Tim Clark, The Arthur Terry Academy,
Nigel Farage MEP, Leader of UKIP, and
Gisela Stuart MP, Chair, Vote Leave Campaign

Opposed by
Isabella Copplestone, Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls
Rt Hon Paddy Ashdown, former Leader of the Liberal Democrats
Rt Hon Michael Heseltine, former Deputy Prime Minister

Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP, Member of Parliament for Royal Sutton Coldfield will chair the Debate.

The Debate is being organised and managed by
The Royal Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association and sponsored by The Royal Sutton Coldfield Observer

All are welcome. This will be a ticketed affair with tickets going on sale for £1 between 8am – midday on Monday 23 May, and at the same time on Tuesday 24 May and Wednesday 25 May until all tickets have gone, from the offices of the Royal Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association at 36 High Street, Royal Sutton Coldfield. Tickets will be on a first come, first served basis.

Andrew Mitchell said today, “I am pleased to deliver on my promise from last year’s General Election to organise this Debate in Royal Sutton Coldfield as part of the European Union Referendum.

I hope this will help my constituents decide where they stand on the vital issue of Britain’s membership of the European Union.

Sutton Coldfield will be hearing first hand from four of the clearest voices on Europe and biggest names in British politics.

We will also be hearing from two 6th form students from Sutton Coldfield’s leading schools.

I shall be making my own decision on how to vote following this great event in Sutton Coldfield which I hope my constituents will find memorable, worthwhile and enjoyable.”
