Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP visits and pays tribute to the Cerebral Palsy Midlands Centre which serves Sutton Coldfield and reside

Andrew Mitchell has joined one his constituents and other users of the Cerebral Palsy Midlands Centre for a tour of the newly refurbished. LIFE Skills Room (Learning Independence For Everyone). Here the users of the Centre can enjoy cooking classes, music practice, art and ICT lessons to help them learn and develop new skills. The Centre aims to equip and empower users with skills that will enable them to live independently with little reliance on residential care.

The newly refurbished LIFE Skills Room was funded entirely by revenue generated with support from local Trusts, grants and sponsored events hosted by the users of the Centre. Since its opening in March the purpose built room has hosted 25 people per week, helping them to adjust to independent living.

Andrew Mitchell said "I am pleased to see so many people, including my own constituents in Sutton Coldfield, benefiting from the skills they learn here and using those skills to maximise their potential and give them independence."
