Sutton Coldfield Fundraiser Totals £53,000 for Pakistan Floods Appeal

Andrew Mitchell MP has attended a charity fundraising dinner which took place at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall in aid of the Pakistan Floods Appeal and raised £53,000.

Mirza Ahmad, Barrister, speaking on behalf of the Sutton Coldfield Community Appeal Committee said:

“The Appeal Committee thanks Andrew Mitchell MP and the people of Sutton Coldfield for attending the Charity Fund Raising Dinner on 22 October at the Town Hall and for their most generous support, which helped us to raise about £53,000, on the night, to re-build the homes and lives of the poor and dispossessed people affected by the recent Pakistan Floods.

“The evening was also a huge success in highlighting that Sutton Coldfield has a strong and prosperous Muslim community, consisting of highly qualified professional and business persons.”

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Over 330 people attended this event in our Town Hall in order to help those affected by the floods in Pakistan.

“Huge congratulations to the organising committee and all those who helped make this such a successful Sutton Coldfield event. The fantastic amount of money raised will help those affected by the floods in Pakistan rebuild their lives.”
