The West Midlands Lord-Lieutenant Paul Sabapathy, Sutton Councillors and local community leaders joined Andrew Mitchell, Sutton Coldfield’s Member of Parliament as well as Andrew Watson, Bishop of Aston for this year’s Annual Civic Service held at Holy Trinity Parish Church.

The Annual Service brings together a large congregation in the heart of Sutton Coldfield to celebrate the life of the town. In attendance were representatives of Sutton Coldfield’s voluntary, charitable and non-governmental organisations alongside local dignitaries and the members of the uniformed services.

The Service – now in its seventh year- was taken by Reverend John Routh, Priest-in-charge of Holy Trinity who welcomed readings from Peter Holliday, Chief Executive of St Giles Hospice, Sutton Coldfield’s Member of Parliament, Andrew Mitchell and Andrew Watson, Bishop of Aston. Councillor Margaret Waddington led the Prayers of Intercession.

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “This year’s Civic Service was a great success and it was nice to see so many faces from the local community who contribute so much to Sutton Coldfield. It is an important event where the local community comes together to remember and celebrate life, society and the people of Sutton Coldfield.”
