Andrew Mitchell MP makes a pre-Christmas visit to Penns Primary School

Andrew Mitchell MP has made a pre-Christmas visit to Penns Primary School to talk to Year 5 and 6 students about the role of Parliament in the UK.

Sutton Coldfield’s MP gave a short talk about our Parliamentary democracy and explained the role of a Member of Parliament in representing their constituents both in the House of Commons and in their constituency.

Mr Mitchell then spent one hour answering a series of questions ranging from what it takes to be a politician to a technical question about how many Laws have been passed during this Parliament.

Andrew Mitchell MP, said “Children are often the most challenging audience and the Year 5 and 6 students at Penns Primary School proved to be no different.

“It is great to see so many young people who are interested in learning about the work of their Member of Parliament and there are definitely some politicians in the making in Sutton Coldfield.”
