1st July 2011

Andrew Mitchell MP has visited the Deanery Church of England Primary School on Fox Hollies Road, Sutton Coldfield, to meet with Year 6 pupils in advance of their tour of the Houses of Parliament on 29 June.

Following an invitation from Headmistress, Sally Yates, Sutton Coldfield’s MP gave an introduction to the House of Commons, the history of both Houses of Parliament and answered questions from the pupils about his work as Sutton Coldfield’s MP.

In what has now become an annual event, nearly 60 Year 6 pupils together with their teachers from the Deanery School will visit the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday of this week.

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “It’s great to see so many young people so obviously interested and keen to understand the role of Parliament – I hope everyone enjoys their tour of the Palace of Westminster.”
