Andrew Mitchell MP: Christmas Message 2013

20th December 2013

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my constituents a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

2013 has seen the Government continuing to deliver economic recovery and the benefits of this can be seen locally, with the regeneration of Sutton’s Town Centre making good progress and showing ongoing potential.

2014 will bring new challenges, but also opportunities. Alongside your local Councillors I will continue to fight the plans by the Labour-led City Council to build on our Green Belt. We are also focusing on the campaign to designate Sutton Coldfield a Royal Town.

I hope that you have been able to spend this time of year with your loved ones and enjoy yourself this festive season. My thoughts are with all those whose friends and family are not with them at Christmas, whether from bereavement, illness or because they are serving abroad in the Armed Forces.

My particular thanks to our Emergency Services and Serving Personnel whose dedication to serving the community ensures that we can all enjoy the festive season safely. On Friday I took the opportunity to visit Good Hope Hospital, the Sutton Coldfield Police and Fire Stations and the Postal Sorting Office to meet with the people who work so hard for Sutton throughout the year and thank them for all of their efforts this year.

My first priority is always Sutton Coldfield. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if I can help you with any problems or answer any questions. I am always happy to try to help.

My very best wishes to you and yours for a Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
