Andrew Mitchell MP visited Walmley Junior School to speak to Year Six pupils about their recent trip to Parliament and take part in a quick-fire question and answer session, along with local Councillor Ken Wood.
Sutton’s MP spoke about his work as the children’s Member of Parliament and explained how he represents all of his constituents at Westminster. He talked about how he divides his week between his home in Sutton Coldfield and Westminster.
He then answered over 30 questions from students, ranging from the impact of Brexit to what he thought about the election of Donald Trump in the United States, to which football team he supports (Aston Villa). Councillor Ken Wood was also on hand to answer questions about the role of a local councillor and the way that he works alongside the local MP in the Royal Town.
Andrew Mitchell MP said “School children are always my toughest audience and I was impressed with the range of questions the pupils had come up with – stimulated by their trip to Westminster”.
