Andrew Mitchell has met Cliff Hall, the new Interim Principal and Chief Executive of Birmingham Metropolitan College which includes the Royal Sutton Coldfield Campus on Litchfield Road.
The College has recently been in receipt of an Ofsted report which, while acknowledging good improvement, has made clear there is further to go.
Andrew Mitchell opened a new A level block towards the end of last year and it is in the area of A levels that the college is particularly focusing its efforts on improvement.
Following his meeting, Andrew Mitchell said:
“I am very pleased at the work going on at the campus in the Royal Town and the investment that has taken place there. I am also heartened to know that the College has made significant improvement in the provision of apprenticeships which is of great importance to us locally and to the provision of training for local business and new employment challenges.
“I very much look forward to welcoming the new Chairman of the College, Sir Dexter Hutt, to Sutton Coldfield soon.”
