Andrew Mitchell visits Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls and Meets the Sixth Form

29th October 2016

The Royal Town’s MP has taken the opportunity to visit Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls where he spoke to the Sixth Form Assembly at the start of the school term and answered questions.

Following his speech, which covered Brexit, the situation in Syria and the threat to Sutton Coldfield’s Green Belt, Andrew held a question and answer session with the students.

The girls raised questions about tuition fees, the Government’s proposals with regard to Grammar Schools and opportunities for women in the 21st century.

Following his visit Andrew said “I regard it as an important part of my role as the Royal Town’s Member of Parliament to meet the town’s sixth formers and listen to their views. The students at Sutton Girls are an extremely lively and interesting bunch and it is always a pleasure to visit the school.” END
