Andrew Mitchell MP has condemned the new proposed rapid transit system linking Sutton Coldfield Town Centre with the new green belt developments and Birmingham City Centre.
In a damning letter to the Managing Director of Travel for West Midlands, Andrew Mitchell echoed the concerns expressed by the Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council such as over the use of Coleshill Road, Riland Road and Rectory Road areas near the Town Centre - displacing street parking in areas which already fails to meet current demands.
Andrew Mitchell said:
“Frankly, these proposals are ill-thought out and will need significant amendment with much greater input from our local communities. I urge Travel for West Midlands to take on board the comments and criticisms and come back with fresh proposals.”
