Christmas cheer as unemployment falls again in Sutton Coldfield

Unemployment in Sutton Coldfield is down again with the total number of unemployed representing just 1.5% of all working age residents in Sutton Youth unemployment within the Royal Town is down by over half since the last general election in May 2010.

Nationally the number of people claiming unemployment benefit is at its lowest since 2008 with unemployment falling by over half a million since the last general election.

In the past twelve months full-time jobs accounted for 95 per cent of new jobs created. In addition a record 14.4 million women are now in employment.

Andrew Mitchell MP commenting on the figures said ‘I am very pleased to see unemployment continuing to fall all across Sutton. This is very good news indeed”.
