Diwali Message

27th October 2019

As the Diwali season approaches, Andrew Mitchell has issued the following Diwali message:

I would like to wish my Hindu and Sikh constituents a very happy Diwali. All of us in the Royal Town can share in the common values of Diwali. It is relevant to all of us and the message will resonate with people of all faiths and none

The festival of lights has an important meaning for our whole community, and it is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the triumph of good over evil, hope over despair and light over darkness. I hope that we can all celebrate the values and freedoms that we share and I wish everyone celebrating a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year.

Andrew has also personally written to the Royal Sutton Indians to wish them and everyone celebrating a Happy Diwali.
