MP presents his constituent with French Legion D’honneur Medal on behalf of the Government of France

Royal Sutton Coldfield’s MP, the Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell has presented Mr Arthur Howes, his distinguished constituent living in the centre of Sutton Coldfield with the highest honour France can bestow on a foreign national.

The presentation took place at Mr Arthur Howes’ home and the formalities included Andrew Mitchell MP reading a citation from the French Government in respect of Mr Howes’ service to France during World War Two. The ceremony was attended by family and friends of Arthur Howes.

Following the ceremony Mr Mitchell said, “It was a pleasure to perform this presentation on behalf of the Government of France for my distinguished constituent. It was a lovely afternoon and a suitable salute to a fine constituent.”
