Thousands turn out for Boldmere Christmas Lights switch on

20th January 2016

On Thursday night last week thousands of local people turned out to support Martin Pedley and the members of the Boldmere Traders Association for the switching on of the Christmas lights.

Roads were closed, food was served and many of Boldmere’s business community were on hand to sell, advise and raise money to combat breast cancer.

Andrew Mitchell, Royal Suttons MP, was on hand to officially turn on the lights aided by a number of local Boldmere children who officiated the ceremony along with local Councillors and Suzanne Webb, Head of Project Fields and the Save the Green Belt Campaign.

Andrew Mitchell said, “This was an outstanding event heavily supported by thousands of local people. I congratulate businesses throughout Boldmere for making it such a success and such an enjoyable occasion”.
