Andrew Mitchell MP has visited the Bashundora Indian Restaurant on Sutton’s Lichfield Road to receive the proceeds of their charity auction held earlier this year. Andrew Mitchell MP, Secretary of State for International Development, was presented with a cheque for 1,813 pounds by the Bashundora’s Manager Kabir Uddin. The cheque has now been forwarded to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) who ran the Haiti appeal. Nearly six months after 12 January’s devastating earthquake in Haiti the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal has raised £101 million, so far this money has funded emergency assistance to 1.2m people. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Congratulations to Sutton’s Bashundora, their staff and supporters, who raised such a fantastic amount of money for a well worthy cause.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP outside the Bashundora restaurant in Sutton Coldfield with Manager Kabir Uddin and staff.',
