Andrew Mitchell MP supports Poppy Appeal and looks ahead to local Remembrance Day service

With the 2021 Poppy Appeal launching this week Andrew Mitchell MP has thanked volunteers ahead of next month’s Remembrance Day commemorations.

This year members of the public can attend and watch the Parade in the Royal Town. A series of wreaths will be laid by Deputy Lieutenant Doug Wright, the Royal Town Council’s Mayor Terry Wood, the Town’s MP Andrew Mitchell, and the West Midlands Mayor Andy Street.

Andrew Mitchell said,

“I would like to thank all our local volunteers who are supporting this year’s Poppy Appeal and the Royal Town’s Royal British Legion volunteers who have been helping make arrangements for our local Remembrance Day service including the ordering of wreaths.

I have been in touch with Reverend John Routh, the Rector at Holy Trinity Parish Church about the plans for this year’s service. While Covid 19 means that things have not entirely returned to normal, the service is still an incredibly important way that we can honour all those that sacrificed so much. I know that the service will be a fitting tribute to all those that have served our country.”
