Royal Town’s MP opens heritage open day at Holy Trinity Parish Church

The Royal Town’s MP, Andrew Mitchell and Mayor, Cllr Terry Wood officially opened Holy Trinity’s Heritage Open Day on Saturday 18th September.

Over 150 people of all ages attended the event and enjoyed the activities on offer which included the opportunity to climb the church tower, stalls providing information about local history and research, FOLIO’s map-based stories and Susie Walker's collection of youth club memories. Local historian, Marian Baxter led strolls round the churchyard, providing information about the memorials and there were activities for children too.

“I congratulate the team at Holy Trinity including their brilliant volunteers for a superb event, bringing our Town’s heritage to life and sharing the magnificent church building with the wider community.
