Supporting campaigners fighting for Boldmere library

Last week Andrew was out and about, joining two brilliant community campaigners, Anja Pawson and John Cooper. They are doing everything they can to save Boldmere Library from the savage cuts.

As a result of Birmingham’s financial woes, three of the Royal Town’s four libraries are facing closure.

Elsewhere, following concerns raised about safely crossing Antrobus Road near Boldmere Spinney and Boldmere Infant and Junior School, John and Anja have been campaigning for action.

Anja, who is Vice-Chair of Friends of Boldmere Spinney, and Nick, a retired highways engineer, have proposed safety solutions for Antrobus Road. Sadly, so far the City Council have rejected calls to fund improvements. Given the Council’s refusal so far, John and Anja are collecting a petition to urge them to allocate funds for these crucial improvements.
