Andrew Mitchell MP has welcomed Christopher Pincher, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Tamworth and Little Aston, as guest speaker at the Royal Rose Club’s annual political lunch, which was held at Sutton’s Town Hall. The Royal Rose is one of Sutton's longest-standing women's luncheon clubs. This year it is celebrating its 55th anniversary. The Club’s President is Mrs Kay Noone, the Chair this year is Mrs Sue Cockayne, the Treasurer and Membership Secretary are respectively Mrs Carole Smith and Mrs Diana Knowles. Guest Speaker, Christopher Pincher, made a well received speech, which included a few anecdotes about his childhood in Walsall and how Margaret Thatcher’s ‘Bruge speech’ persuaded him to become a Conservative while at university. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I’d like to thank Chris Pincher for coming to Sutton and addressing one of Sutton’s oldest luncheon clubs. “Secondly, thank you to the Royal Rose ladies for organising this wonderful lunch. Many congratulations on reaching this milestone 55th anniversary.”
