Our MP, Andrew Mitchell, is a regular visitor to schools in the Royal Town and his latest visit was to the New Oscott Primary School where he met and talked with the Headteacher, Alison Walklett, and former Chairman and now Deputy Chair of Governors, Steve Wright.

I have just learnt of the terrible news about my parliamentary neighbour Jack Dromey's death this morning. He was a great colleague and friend and in spite of our different political allegiances we worked seamlessly together on local issues of importance to those we represent at Westminster. I send my love and condolences to Harriet and their family on this awful news and their terrible loss.
Again, we have had a challenging year with the pandemic and all the changes to our lives it has brought about, not least for this Christmas, when again, we are inevitably cautious and restrained.
Last night, once I got back to the Royal Town, I held a meeting with the Leader of the Conservatives on Birmingham City Council who is working hard, along with his excellent team, to bring about improvement across our local government area.
