In a few short weeks, the Conservative Party will elect a new leader and the UK will have a new prime minister. Ballot papers are landing on the doormats of Conservative Party members throughout the Royal Town and the decision rests with them. It is an awesome responsibility.
The Commonwealth Games give us something positive to enjoy away from the cut and thrust of daily politics. As Birmingham and the West Midlands take centre stage, the competition will showcase the best of global Britain and our region to the world.

He also highlights the disastrous decision to abolish the Department for International Development and raises concerns about continued spending in China.
Following the Government statement on the decision to place the Metropolitan Police Service in the “engage” process, Andrew Mitchell highlights the importance of the quality of leadership at the very top and urges the Government to look to the military for a new Police Commissioner.
Andrew has a keen interest in international development and in 2007 founded Project Umubano, the Conservative Party’s ten-year social action project in Rwanda. The project culminated with the Kigali Declaration against Genocide and Identity-based Violence.
