Sutton’s MP has held a meeting with PegasusLife, the developers responsible for the latest proposals to develop the Brassington Avenue site in the heart of Sutton Coldfield. Mr Mitchell and Councillor Margaret Waddington met with Guy Flitoft, Director of Public Policy and Planning at PegasusLife, who laid out the company’s plans for the redevelopment of the derelict site. During the meeting Andrew Mitchell stressed the importance of an open and transparent process with a focus on public consultation, and the need to work closely with residents and Councillors from the earliest stages of the bid. PegasusLife have started their initial consultations with an exhibit of the proposals at the Town Hall last week and a wide distribution of the plans to local residents. Mr Mitchell said “I believe this plan is not without merit, but for it to progress there must be full engagement with the people of Sutton Coldfield through a consultation process that truly listens to the local voice and is a genuine two way exchange of views. I believe that it is important that we take a positive approach to the development of this site, which has remained derelict for a very long time and holds a huge amount of potential to benefit Sutton, if done properly and to local advantage”.
