Andrew Mitchell MP has visited Good Hope Hospital to meet with Managing Director, Sue Moore, to discuss progress on resolving the longstanding issue of parking at the site. For many years Sutton Coldfield’s MP, working closely with Trinity Councillors led by Councillor Margaret Waddington, has monitored the parking situation at Good Hope which has caused particular concern to constituents living in neighbouring roads to the Hospital. Following Mr Mitchell’s continued representations and communication with the management at Good Hope, the Hospital carried out an in-depth review of their car parking strategy and reached a short-term solution in 2012. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “For many years now I, and local Councillors, have worked closely with the management at both Heart of England and Good Hope to try and relieve the pressure for local residents on roads around the hospital site. “Following my meeting with the Managing Director of Good Hope I do think that the case for a multi-storey car park is now overwhelming and I am hopeful that this will prove to be a satisfactory, long-term solution for the many constituents who have raised this matter with me.” Councillor Margaret Waddington, said, “This is an important development in Trinity Ward for which we have worked long and hard.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP with Managing Director of Good Hope Hospital, Sue Moore, and Dr Clive Ryder, Associate Medical Director, Women and Children’s Services.
