Andrew Mitchell MP has visited Hozelock Ltd and met with Peter Rush, Group Managing Director of the Sutton Coldfield based business to congratulate the company on its continued success. Andrew Mitchell toured the factory with Peter Rush and heard how Hozelock has achieved year on year growth, built on domestic demand and export success. Mr Mitchell discussed how Hozelock were recently included in a film commissioned by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, as part of their Engineered in Britain Campaign. Hozelock has previously won the Award for Business Development and Change Management for creating innovative products, consolidating 5 sites into one and combining manufacture, assembly and shipping all on one site in Sutton Coldfield. Formed in 1959 with the development of a unique hose connector, Hozelock is now a household name for pond and hosepipe equipment. They are a major employer in the constituency with 254 permanent staff and 311 extra temporary staff. The majority of the production is undertaken at the company’s site in Sutton Coldfield and they export to over 60 countries worldwide. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Hozelock are an excellent example of ‘Designed in Britain...created in Britain’ something the Chancellor envisaged in the Budget earlier this year.
