Andrew Mitchell MP hosts Parliamentary Export Programme event to help Sutton Coldfield businesses

On Monday Andrew Mitchell MP hosted an export event with the Department for International Trade.

The online event which Andrew organised took the form of an informative and interactive webinar for businesses across Sutton Coldfield.

The event provided information aimed at those already exporting and for businesses considering taking the first step to finding new international customers.

Experts discussed the wide range of Government support that is available to businesses including the Export Academy, Internationalisation Fund, Export hubs, trade missions and 1:1 support for businesses.

The session provided an overview of changes to trading as a result of Brexit and the global opportunities that are available following our departure from the EU.

The event finished with a question and answer session, giving local businesses the chance to speak directly to government trade experts. Andrew is organising further meetings in the summer for local businesses as part of the Parliamentary Export programme.

Andrew Mitchell said:

“The past year has been incredibly difficult for businesses and I am keen to support local companies in the Royal Town to recover from the pandemic and explore export opportunities. We have a wide range of businesses already exporting goods and services across the world and it was good to have the opportunity to connect local businesses directly with the Department for International Trade. I look forward to holding another export event in the coming weeks.”
