Andrew Mitchell MP President of the Sutton Coldfield Branch of Parkinson’s UK met with representatives from the charity ahead of Parkinson’s Awareness Week.

Parkinson’s UK is dedicated to supporting all people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers in Sutton Coldfield and from 16 to 22 April events are held nationally to inform others of the disease and to progress in the battle of finding a cure for Parkinson’s.

Events to be held by The North Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield Branch of Parkinson’s UK:

Tuesday 10 April – Representatives will be at the local mall from 10:00-16:00 handing out Parkinson’s literature. It provides an opportunity for individuals who are not aware of the symptoms or conditions of the Parkinson’s disease to learn more.
Saturday 14 April - Coffee morning from 10:00 -12:00 at Sutton Methodist Church. Admission is free and will be a chance for all individuals who are involved with Parkinson’s to meet.

Andrew Mitchell MP said, “The Sutton Coldfield Branch of Parkinson’s UK plays an important role in our area, helping those who suffer from the disease, their families, friends and carers.

“The charity is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s, as well as their loved ones coping on a daily basis with the implications of the disease. The Sutton Coldfield branch holds weekly meetings aimed at providing stimulating activities and speech therapy for residents, as well as an invaluable source of support in our local community for carers, family and friends.”

The Sutton branch meets at the Methodist church every Thursday afternoon from 1:45-15:45pm, where they offer a variety of different classes, support days out and mostly friendship.
