Andrew Mitchell MP has held his Annual Meeting with Sutton Coldfield’s Secondary School Headteachers and senior Governors to discuss any issues facing teachers and students in Sutton Coldfield. The meeting is an opportunity for Sutton Coldfield’s MP to meet collectively with the senior leadership of all seven of Sutton’s Secondary Schools and Birmingham Metropolitan College Sutton Coldfield Campus to catch-up on progress made in the last year and to discuss any future challenges. The group discussed a range of issues including the speed of the Government’s education reforms, driving up standards and the proposed reforms to A-Levels. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “My annual meeting with Sutton’s Secondary Headteachers and the Chairs of the Governing Bodies always provides a useful forum for discussion and I value their input on local and national issues. “I have passed on suggestions shared by the education community in Sutton Coldfield to Michael Gove about how to further improve education strategy.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP with Sutton’s Head Teachers and representatives from the Governing Bodies of Sutton’s Schools.
