Andrew Mitchell MP, alongside hundreds of local residents, paid tribute on Sunday to Servicemen and women from Sutton Coldfield and across the UK at the Town’s official Remembrance Sunday ceremony. The Remembrance Service took place at Holy Trinity Parish Church, and was led by the Reverend John Routh. Mr Mitchell read from Corinthians Thirteen during the Service. Following the wreath laying ceremony Andrew Mitchell, accompanied by his wife Sharon, attended a Reception at the Royal British Legion’s Sutton Coldfield Branch where they met a number of serving and former members of the Armed Services from the local community. Following the Service Andrew Mitchell MP, said “Next year we will commemorate what will be the Centenary of the onset of the First World War. Remembrance Sunday serves as an important reminder of the enormous debt we owe to members of our Armed Forces, past and present, who sacrifice so much to keep us safe”. Earlier in the week Mr Mitchell joined nearly 60 MPs with previous service in the Armed Forces for a Remembrance Service in Wellington Barracks.
