Andrew Mitchell MP visited Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club to present a cheque for £50,000 from Sport England as part of their programme to deliver a London 2012 legacy. The award, one of the first made as part of the Places People Play programme makes it easier for local community groups to improve and refurbish sports clubs. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I was delighted to return to the Tennis Club to watch some brilliant youngsters in a lesson and present Sport England’s cheque of £50,000 to refurbish the club’s changing rooms. Sport England is working hard to bring the magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into the heart of local communities.” “I am grateful to Sport England for their support locally and thanks must go to the team who ensure the club continues to be a venue of excellence and professionalism enjoyed by many of my constituents and by those from further afield.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP at the Club following a tour of their facilities.
