Andrew Mitchell MP sends happy birthday message to former councillor on his 100th birthday

Dennis Birbeck a former local Councillor in Sutton Coldfield and Alderman celebrated his 100th birthday last week. Mr Birbeck was a City Councillor for 36 years in Sutton New Hall Ward and was heavily involved in a successful campaign against green belt development at Peddimore during the late 1990s.

Dennis was particularly involved with the pre and post-natal charity ‘Acacia’ attending meetings at St Johns Church on a Thursday until the Covid 19 Lockdown was introduced last year.

The Royal Town’s MP, Andrew Mitchell said

Commenting on Dennis’ Birthday, Cllr Derrick Griffin (Walmley) said:

“Dennis has spent his whole life looking after and supporting Walmley and Sutton Coldfield as a Councillor and afterwards, and I would like to wish him a very Happy Birthday”.
