Andrew Mitchell MP visited John Taylor Hospice which has recently become the country’s first Hospice to be a not-for-profit social enterprise. John Taylor Hospice provides expert palliative care and lifeline emotional support across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Skilled staff freely provide relief from the symptoms of illness to anyone in need. Staff and volunteers take time to listen, care and allow people to live their lives. At home or in the Hospice, staff, volunteers and the community make every moment matter. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “It was encouraging to meet John Taylor Hospice’s CEO and Chairman and to learn first-hand the Hospice’s plans for the future. The Hospice teams give expert care to around 700 people each week; many of these people are my constituents and, therefore, I wanted to show my support for the wonderful work of the staff and volunteers at the Hospice. I know only too well that the vital service the Hospice provides is hugely valued by the community in Sutton Coldfield”.
