Andrew Mitchell MP and local Indian Restaurant owner Mr Joynal Abdin are joining forces to help raise money for Sutton charity, St Giles Hospice. On Thursday 21 October 2010 the Shaban Indian Restaurant on Sutton’s Boldmere Road will hold a charity evening at which local MP, Andrew Mitchell will be the guest of honour. Anyone is welcome to attend the event which starts at 7pm. All proceeds raised from the curry night go to the St Giles Hospice Buy-A-Bed appeal which is kitting out its newest facility, the Compass Centre, with beds and equipment. Mr Mitchell says: “St Giles is one of the best-known and most respected charities in our region, providing invaluable care for patients from Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding area. “I recently visited the Compassus Centre and was hugely impressed with the new facility. The centre is revolutionising the way in which in-patient care is provided to local people with cancer and other serious illnesses. “By lending its support to the ‘Buy a Bed for St Giles’ campaign, the local community can make a real difference to the lives of thousands of patients and their families. I hope that the Shaban’s Charity Curry Night will help raise the money needed for the hospice to continue to meet the high demand for its crucial services.” Anyone wishing to attend should book their place by contacting Shaban Indian Restaurant on 0121 354 7722.
