Andrew Mitchell MP has visited Bishop Walsh Catholic School to address an assembly of the whole school and answer a range of quick-fire questions from Sixth Form Politics and Business students. Sutton Coldfield’s MP was accompanied by local Conservative Councillor, David Barrie, and the pair discussed their roles and the kind of work they undertake in Sutton Coldfield on behalf of constituents. Mr Mitchell spoke briefly about a series of international, national and local issues before answering questions on issues such as Higher Rate Tax, the UK’s relationship with the EU and Immigration. Following his visit Andrew Mitchell MP, said “I had a really enjoyable visit to Bishop Walsh and it was encouraging to have a discussion with a group of young people who are engaged with current affairs and the issues that affect us locally, nationally and internationally. “Spending time at Sutton’s Secondary Schools gives me the opportunity to listen to the views of Sutton’s young people on the important, long-term decisions that the Coalition Government is taking. The views of young people in Sutton are of great interest to me and essential to my work at Westminster.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP with the Head Boy and Head Girl of Bishop Walsh Catholic School.
