Andrew Mitchell MP will next Wednesday (21 December) tour Sutton’s postal sorting office, Police and Fire stations as well as Good Hope Hospital to meet with staff and thank them on behalf of the local community. Since becoming Sutton’s Member of Parliament in 2001 Andrew has always visited the town’s emergency services and postal sorting office just before Christmas to thank all those who work hard in the run up to and during the festive season. On Wednesday Andrew will start with an 8am visit to Sutton Coldfield’s Royal Mail Delivery Office off Upper Clifton Road where he will meet Manager Stephen Caulton and many of the postmen and women who deliver Christmas post to some 49,000 addresses across the town. After touring the sorting office, Mr Mitchell will travel to Good Hope Hospital where Dr Mark Newbold, Chief Executive and Sue Moore, Managing Director will accompany him around the hospital. Andrew will speak to Good Hope’s doctors, nurses and admin staff, wishing them a happy Christmas and thanking those that will work long hours during the festive season. At 10.30am Sutton’s MP will arrive at the Fire Station on Lichfield Road to meet the duty crew, Red Watch, and Watch Commander McWilliam. Andrew Mitchell will then visit Sutton Coldfield Police Station where he will be greeted by Chief Superintendent Andronov and many of Sutton’s police men and women. At both stations, Mr Mitchell will thank all the crews that will be on duty during the Christmas and New Year period. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Our emergency services do such a valuable job keeping all of us in Sutton safe throughout the festive season. This is my opportunity to say a huge thank you to them on behalf of the local community.” Photos: Andrew Mitchell MP at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield Police Station and the Royal Mail Sorting Office off Upper Clifton Road on his 2010 Christmas tour.
