Andrew Mitchell MP will today (Friday) make his annual Christmas tour of Sutton Coldfield’s emergency services and the postal sorting office to thank those who work throughout Christmas on behalf of the local community. Mr Mitchell is starting the tour with a 7.30am visit to Royal Mail’s Sutton Coldfield delivery office where he will meet Manager Stephen Caulton and some of the 157 postmen and women to thank them for ensuring Sutton’s Christmas mail is delivered to over 49,800 addresses. Andrew will then tour Good Hope Hospital with Head Nurse Sue Hyland. Mr Mitchell will thank doctors, nurses and staff, including the Ambulance Service paramedics and drivers, who will be working throughout the Christmas period. Ending the Christmas tour with Sutton Coldfield’s Police and Fire Stations, Mr Mitchell will meet Superintendent Manjit Thandi to thank all the policemen and women, as well as civilian staff, who will be working hard over Christmas and New Year to ensure Sutton is kept safe. At Sutton’s Fire Station Andrew will meet Watch Commander Broadmore and the team to thank them for their hard work over the year, and wish them a happy 2011.
