Andrew Mitchell MP has made his annual Christmas tour of Sutton Coldfield’s emergency services and the postal sorting office to thank those who work throughout Christmas on behalf of the local community. Mr Mitchell started the tour with a 7.30am visit to Royal Mail’s Sutton Coldfield delivery office where he met Manager Stephen Caulton, then toured Good Hope Hospital with Head Nurse Sue Hyland. Ending the Christmas tour at Sutton Coldfield’s Police and Fire Stations, Mr Mitchell met Superintendent Manjit Thandi and Watch Commander Broadmore where he thanked their teams for their hard work over the year. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “The Christmas break gives us all an opportunity to catch up with family and friends and to enjoy each other’s company. We can do that in the secure knowledge that there are those amongst us who give up their Christmas and New Year to ensure that we are safe and, if things go wrong, they will be there to support us, even when the rest of the country is on holiday. “On behalf of my constituents I would like to thank all those in the emergency services who will be keeping us safe this Christmas.”
