Sutton Coldfield’s MP, Andrew Mitchell, has made his annual Christmas tour of Sutton Coldfield’s emergency services including shadowing a Postman and visiting Sutton’s Royal Mail sorting office to meet with staff and thank them for their hard work on behalf of the local community. Each year Andrew Mitchell visits Sutton’s emergency services and Royal Mail delivery office just before Christmas to thank all those who work hard in the run up to and during the festive season. This year Mr Mitchell was invited to shadow a postman and took the opportunity to do so at one of the busiest times of the year. Mr Mitchell started his tour with a visit to Good Hope Hospital where he met with the Head of Operations, Sarah Rose, who introduced him to hospital staff who work tirelessly throughout the year and over the Christmas period. Mr Mitchell then ended his tour at Sutton Coldfield’s Police and Fire Stations, where he met Chief Superintendent Lorraine Bottomley and Commander Jez Johnson, and thanked both Stations for their hard work during 2012. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Our emergency services do such a valuable job keeping all of us in Sutton safe throughout the festive season and this is my opportunity to say a huge thank you to them on behalf of the local community. “Many of the emergency service staff, along with our servicemen and women in the armed forces will be on duty over the period when the rest of us in Sutton celebrate the festive season with family and friends. “Their dedication throughout the year is greatly appreciated and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them on behalf of all of us in Sutton Coldfield.” Photos: Andrew Mitchell MP with staff from the Royal Mail Sorting Office and with a local Postman.
