Andrew Mitchell MP for Sutton Coldfield has helped ensure that no further construction will take place on the railway-only communication mast, that was due to be erected near Boswell Road, until further consultations have been undertaken by Network Rail. Having received numerous letters of concern from his constituents Mr Mitchell wrote to the Chief Executive of Network Rail, Ian Croucher, expressing his own concern at the way in which the residents of Boswell Road had been notified of the works. Mr Mitchell has since received assurances that an investigation is now underway and that no further work will be undertaken until the points raised by residents have been addressed. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I am very committed to ensuring that any planning process in Sutton involves local residents. I am pleased to have secured National Rail’s commitment to consulting local people and to putting all work on hold.”
