Andrew Mitchell MP has met with Simon Griffiths, Chief Executive and Colin Tivey, Chairman, of the West Midlands Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS-WM). The meeting was arranged to update Sutton’s MP on how the Service is helping businesses and individuals in the manufacturing industry in Sutton and the surrounding area. Throughout the economic downturn Mr Mitchell has kept track of the problems facing the manufacturing industry, ensuring that Sutton Coldfield constituents receive any support and assistance they might need. Mr Mitchell heard how the Advisory Service aims to provide a range of support to the West Midlands manufacturing industry - from practical advice on issues affecting businesses like low carbon initiatives to regular updates on relevant grants and funding. MAS-WM Chief Executive Simon Griffiths said, “We are dedicated to making a difference to manufacturing in the region. With advanced manufacturing, low carbon initiatives and innovation all high on the agenda, we assist businesses in the region to continually improve their competitiveness.”Andrew Mitchell MP said, “These are difficult times for the West Midlands manufacturing industry, and I am extremely concerned for my constituents who are experiencing difficulties – largely because of Labour’s economic mismanagement.
