Andrew Mitchell MP has met with the Chief Executive of Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust, Sophia Christie, to discuss healthcare issues affecting the people of Sutton Coldfield. Andrew organised the meeting in order to talk over issues raised by his constituents. In particular he questioned the PCT’s policy regarding chemotherapy drugs and IVF treatment after Sutton residents complained they are subject to the ‘postcode lottery’ and BEN PCT’s reluctance to fund certain treatments and medication. After the meeting Andrew Mitchell MP said, “Working closely with Sutton Coldfield’s healthcare boss is an integral part of my work. I will continue to ensure that my constituents receive the correct treatment and best service that the PCT can provide.”
