Secretary of State for Education, Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, was the guest speaker at this year’s Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association Annual Dinner which took place last Friday, 19 November, at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. The flag ship event attracted more local Conservatives from Sutton Coldfield and nearby Associations than ever before. Attendees included Sutton Councillors, Birmingham City Council Leader Mike Whitby and Tamworth MP Christopher Pincher. The fundraising event which included a raffle made nearly £2,000 for the Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association. The Chairman of the Association, Cllr Margaret Waddington, told those present that the Conservative Party in Sutton was going from strength to strength serving local people and contributing to the Conservative efforts in neighbouring seats. Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I am delighted that our Annual Dinner is once again taking place at Sutton’s magnificent Town Hall. “It is the first to be held under a Conservative Prime Minister for many years and possibly is the first ever under a Coalition Government. “I am enormously grateful to my Cabinet colleague the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP for coming to Sutton Coldfield this evening and to all those who worked hard to make tonight such a resounding success.” The picture shows the Rt Hon Michael Gove MP with Cllr Margaret Waddington, Chairman of the Sutton Coldfield Conservative Association and the Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP.
