Sutton Coldfield Civic Society\'s new leaflet setting out a walk through the town\'s historic centre will be available to the public from next Tuesday, June 28th, when it will be \"launched\" in The Mall as part of the national Civic Day activities. Members of the Society, including the leaflet\'s creators Alan Green and Roger Lea, will be on hand to provide more information about our fascinating history. In the afternoon the group hope to have members of the city\'s Planning Department present to answer any questions about hopes for the town centre\'s development. There will also be some competitions with prizes. The leaflet has already won praise from Sutton’s elected representatives. Comments have included: “Beautifully produced. Very impressive - great artwork,” “It\'s brilliant” and “It\'s initiatives such as these that mean Sutton Coldfield continues to be viewed as somewhere with its own special character.” Andrew Mitchell MP said, “I think it is an excellent initiative and a very fitting contribution to the national Civic Day projects. In fact I would very much like to undertake part of the Town Centre Trail myself.” Photo: Andrew Mitchell MP in his office in Sutton Coldfield with one of the first copies of the Town Centre Trail leaflet
